W2 1st Recess

 

Inscription.

Burial place of the Mylnes of Mylnefield. Stone erected 1651 in memory of Baillie Alexander Mylne.

(Flat stone on ground in front of recess with the initials T.M. is the memorial of Thomas Mylne, 1629.


A Miln patri optimo saepius urbe praetura cum laude defuncto tandem anno aetatis 68 domini 1651. Vita functo monumentum hoc Mr Alex Miln filius erigendum curavit.

To his most excellent father A Miln, of times Baillie in this city with great praise, who at length died in the 68th year of his age nad of the Lord 1651.

Over him dead, his son Mr Alexander Miln caused this monument to be erected.
