C.S. Lawson Sketches

This section I have created to show some illustrations of tombstones from the Howff. These drawings were made in 19th Century by Charles S. Lawson, a lithographer, and show some of the intricate carving which sadly no longer can be seen on the stones due to being missing, erosion or air pollution.

Some of the sketch numbers do not match correctly with the headstones they relate to in reality. Where known the correct numbers have been added.

The sketches are from the Lamb collection and are reproduced courtesy of Dundee City Library

Please note these images are larger than 500kbs in size
