Erected By MARGARET SCOTT in memory of her husband JAMES MATTHEW who died 23rd April 1859 aged 60 years likewise their children ELIZABETH died 19th June 1836 aged 7 months ROBERT died 2nd Jany 1837 aged 2 years DAVID died 8th Oct 1841 aged 9 years MARGARET SCOTT aide 22 Dec 1874 aged 76 years

Dundee 7 Oct 1859. Permission granted to Mrs Margaret Scott of Matthew to remove this headstone and replace it by another, but without prejudice to the rights of other parties.
