In memory of James Soot merchant Dundee who died 29th April 1836 aged 61 years and of Margaret Vannet his wife who died 3rd November 1823 aged 42 years also of their son Edward who died in infancy also Margaret daughter of James soot Merchant Dundee by whom this monument was erected who died 19th April 1844 aged 6 months
