the Harbour Porters

to the memory of

Peter Smith,

their late Brother, who died

27th Decr, 1834, aged 57 years.

This monument is raised by the

Harbour Porters of Dundee,

as a tribute of their regard and

esteem for him.

How lov'd, how valu'd once, avails the Not,

To whom related, or by whom begot,

A heap of dust alone remains of the,

Its all thou art, and all the proud shall be.
