Inscription.

Sacred to the memory of Alexander Thoms, Esq, of Rumgally, Merchant and sometime Provost in Dundee, who died the 8th of October 1809 aged 79 years, and Grace Wise his wife daughter of David Wise Esq of Lunan, who died 29th April 1847 aged 84 years. Josiah Thoms their son died 25th October 1819 aged 18 years, and 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Thoms died December 1836 aged 16 months, Ann Emily Thoms died 31st July 1853 aged 17 years, Margaret Jobson or Thoms their daughter in law died 29th December 1852 aged 48 years, and James Thoms, their son, who died 10th June 1859 aged 62 years.
