in memory of

JOHN LOW plasterer

Who died 1st April MDCCCXLVI

aged LXXXVII years

and of MARY HUGHS his spouse

who died Xth Nov MDCCCL

aged LXXXI years

and also their son ALEXANDER

who died III Feb MDCCCXYII

aged XVI years

and of a daughter and seven of their sons

who all died at VIII years of age

and under

also in memory of

JOHN THOMAS LOW son of

RICHARD LOW headmaster of

the grammar school public seminaries

who died VIIth Novr MDCCCLI

aged X years


14 May 1851, Richard Low, teacher paid revisal dues for permission to remove old stone & replace it by a new one per minute of Hospital Com: of 1 May 1851.

Original Inscription.

Erected by John Low, Plasterer, Dundee, in memory of Alexander Low his son, who died February 3rd 1817, aged 16 years. Also a daughter and seven other sons who all died at eight years and under.
