Inscription.

1831. Erected by John Elder, Shipmaster, Dundee, in memory of his father-in-law David Bruce, late Shipmaster in Dundee, who died 5th October 1803, aged 63 years. Also Elisabeth Elder his spouse, who died 28th November 1812, aged 75 years.

In memory of the above John Elder, Shipmaster, Dundee, who died April 10th 1823, aged 58 years.

Also sacred to the memory of Isabella Bruce (daughter of the late David Bruce, and spouse of the late Alexander Myles, Shipmaster in Dundee) who died 5th day of February 1830 aged 49 years.

John Elder, Shipmaster, died April 10th 1823 aged 55 years. And of his spouse Elizabeth Bruce who died 2nd February 1846, aged 72 years.
