Inscription.

 Cope stone of Sarcophagus to David, Colen, and Elspet Lovell his spouse, 1635.

 

Marshalled arms and initials.


Here lyis an honest and godly man David Colen merchant, burgis in Dundee who departit this lyfe in the month of  Apryl in the year of God 1635 and of age 48 years.

And also heir lyes Elspit Lovell his spouse quho depairtit in the zier of God,_____ lived in the holy band of marriage 28 zeirs and she being of age____

 

This monument was cut longitudinally in two and placed in the grave of Mr Webster, No711 at his interment, it was dug up again and placed in its current position on the 20th June 1834.
