Stone No.680

 

Inscription.

This stone was erected by Isobel Richard, in memory of her husband, Patrick Marr, Maltman in Dundee, who died April 9th 1770, aged 30; with him here interred Margaret Marr his daughter, aged one year and 10 months,

Remember, man, as thou goes by,

As thou art now, so once was I;

As I am now, so shall thou be,

Remember, man, that thou must die.

Claimant Robert Mudie, Vinter, Murraygate.

June 10th 1847 revisal dues paid by Robert Mudie sometime vintner Murraygate for liberty to remove headstone No.680 in the Old Ground, and to substitute another in its place (680-2). He having obtained the consent of Thomas Mudie his brother in terms of minutes of Hospital Committee of 8th Current.
