Margaret Smith born 14 November 1700, died 15 December 1737
Here lie the ashes of Margaret Smith, a woman greatly
adorned with every Christian virtue. She feared God, as was seen, not in faith
alone, for she constantly practiced justice, and flourished to the last in the
great opinion of true worth. Her bereaved husband, John Jobson, Merchant in
Dundee, caused this monument to be erected as a pledge of his love and esteem.
She was born on the 14th November 1700, and died 15th December in the year of
the Lord 1737. Better things await me.
