Erected by Robert Millar, merchant,
Dundee, in memory of Mrs Jean Scott his spouse, daughter of the late David
Scott, minister, Auchterhouse. With the happiest equanimity of temper and
manners the most endearing, was her life active, voituous and full of goodness;
adorned, cheerful, and happy in her virtues, and beloved by her friends. She was
desirous to live, yet prepared to die; alike in death as in life, exemplary. She
died 4th August 1802.
