Inscription.

 

Hic Jacet honorabilis vir Thomas Mevr burgen de Dvnde qui obiit 4 die mensis Decembris anno 1577 aetatis suae 54.


This is one of the oldest stones in the Howff. It was erected to the memory of Thomas Mevr, 1577.

Arms of Mure in centre.

This stone was revised by the late Mr Peter Dron, Hospital Master, who rearranged the Howff in 1834.


 

Heir lies an honourable man, Thomas Muir, Burgess of Dundee, who died 4th

December in the year 1577, and of his age 54.

In thee, O Lord, have I trusted, let me not be confounded.
