Here lies ane godly and virtuous man, William Forbes, cordiner and burgess of Dundee, and sometime Deacon,
who departed 3 December 1643. Of his age 56 years.
Into thine hands, Lord, we commit
Our souls, which are thy due;
For why, thou hast redeemed them:
