1823. Erected by Patrick Blair and Elizabeth Scott his spouse, in memory of their son William, who died the 24th May 1820, aged 8 months. Also to the memory of the above Patrick Blair, who died the 21st August 1828, aged 36 years. Also their son James who died 22nd August 1840 aged 16 years. Also David Scott, brother of Elizabeth Scott who died 1st January 1835, aged 32 years.

Dundee 16th August 1860. Permission granted by Hospital Master and Hospital Factor ( in virtue of the powers committed to them ) to David S Blair, son of the late Patrick Blair and Elizabeth Scott, to remove the old stone and replace it by a new on.
