in memory of their son

THOMAS

who died 23rd May 1829

aged 4 years

 


The little inhabitant below,

Was quick to learn, and wise to know,

But cruel and untimely blow,

Caused his death;

The parents joy was twin'd to woe,

Reflected beaith.

 

This is inscribed by George Thomson, Flaxdresser, Dundee, in memory of David his son, who lies in front of this stone. He died 28th January 1833, aged 11 1/2 years.
