 Stone No.1171

Inscription.

 1795

Erected at the expense of

JOHN FERRIER in memory of

his father JOHN FERRIER who

lived in the Wellgate of Dundee

he died Sept 28th 1794 in the

78th year of his age

Survived this date 1795, Margaret and John Ferrier, by Jain Wat, his first spouse; and of the second marriage, Isobel Ferrier.

As round the grave's devouring mouth,

Our bones are scatter'd round;

Ly sleeping in the tomb.

But when the last trumpet aful voice,

This rending earth shall shake,

Then bone unto his bone again,

And dust to life awake.
