Stone No.192-2

 

Inscription.

This monument was a marble tablet said to have been of considerable size which was removed when the North wall of the burial ground was taken down in 1828. Its position on the wall was to the West side of 192.

Southwards from this monument lyes interred James Man, Merchant and sometime Baillie in Dundie, and Grizal Davidson, daughter to Robert Davidson of Balgay, his spouse; And also John Man, Merchant, their son, and Janet Bethune, daughter to________ Bethune of Bleba in the County of Fife, his spouse. And likewise Robert Man, Merchant, son to John Man and Janet Bethune, who died anno 1734, aet. 54, with John Man and James, Sons procreat betwixt the said Robert and Helen Ramsay his spouse, Daughter to Robert Ramsay, sometime writer in Forfar, At whose expense this monument is erected in memory of her said husband and sons, Anno 1745.
