CATHERINE BUCHANAN

his spouse in memory

of their son

WILLIAM

who died on the 7th day

of August 1829 aged 24 years

and 5 months

also in memory of the above

CATHERINE BUCHANAN

who died 12th April 1838

aged 63 years

and their son

ALEXANDER

who died 15th May 1839

aged 27 years. the aforesaid

WILLIAM GALL

by whom this stone was erected

born at Armyford 10th April 1780

died at Dundee 29th August 1840

also their son GEORGE

who died at sea 10th April 1833 aged 26 years

 

I left the seas at gods command

where oft I have been toss`d

but now I fear not rocks nor sands

being on a quiet safe cost

now here I silently doth ly

till christ my glorious head

once his quickening voice shall cry

and raise me from the dead.
