Inscription.

Erected by GRACE MORRISON in memory of her husband DAVID SCOTT manufacturer Haukhill who died 13th August 1849 aged 65 years and their four daughters who died in infancy also their son PATRICK WHITSON SCOTT who died 30th June 1837 aged 7 years REAR: In memory of William Scott son of David Scott and Isabel Simpson Hawkhill Who died 6th September 1792 Aged 3 months Also in memory of the above David Scott and Isabel Simpson And their sons Hugh and James McEwen Also their daughters Betty, Agnes, Isabel, Mary and Elspet

1853 April 23 Revisal dues paid by the family of the late David Scott manufacturer was a son of the erector for permission to them / they having obtained the consent of other grand children of the erector to remove No1069 and erect a new stone (1069-2) in its place in terms of minutes of Hospital Committee of 27 Jany 1853, but without prejudice to the rights of the other grand children of the erector or any others having right to said stone.
