Inscription.

1834 Erected by James Lawson Ironmonger Dundee in memory of his mother Jean Hynd who died 10th June 1822 aged 54 years also his brother John who died in New Orleans the same year aged 27 years likewise his daughter Jean who died 13th April 1834 aged 6 1/2 years Elizabeth Ferrier his wife died 20th August 1842 aged 41 the above James Lawson died 30th October 1854 aged 54 years

N.B. In the Hospital book it is David Lowson, Millspinner.
