Robertus Straitone pharmacopaeus monum hoc caedendum curavit sibi et chariss

Me illa opibus cumulat quaes haec conservat et auget
jlla beat multa prole sed haec nutrijt Virtute et probitate pares coniflexus
amore
Sum parili atque unus cippus utramque eregit.
Robert Straiton, Apothecary, caused this monument to be erected to himself and
his dearest wives, Janet Duncan and Isabella Robertson, of whom the former died
27th December A.D. 1652, aged 39, and the latter 26th December 1657, aged 44.
The former enriched me with wealth, which the later preserved and augmented.
The former blessed me with a numerous progeny which the latter reared in virtue
and honesty.
They were equally dear to me and one stone memorises them both.

Revised by James Watson, Baker, and Helen Scoular his spouse, in memory of four
of their children who died in infancy; Also Mary Marr Watson their daughter, who
died the 11th July 1820, aged 21 years.
